The language of flowers

Inspired by floriography — the Victorian art of saying what words can’t. These are the 26 flowers hiding in your name.

In the Victorian era, flowers did the talking. A bouquet handed across a drawing room could declare love, offer friendship, or gently say goodbye — all without a single word. Each bloom had a meaning, and the way you combined them changed the message. This hidden language, called floriography, is what we use to build your bouquet.

We paired every letter A–Z with a flower whose meaning is worth giving: A for Amaryllis and radiant beauty, B for Baby’s Breath and everlasting love, all the way to Z for Zinnia and thoughts of absent friends. When you spell a name here, you’re not just making a pretty picture — you’re writing a short letter in the world’s most romantic alphabet.

A name bouquet for every occasion

People spell the names of everyone they love — here are the bouquets our visitors make most.

For your partner

Blend your first initials, or spell their full name in blooms that describe exactly what they mean to you — Rose for passionate love, Jasmine for unconditional love, Violet for faithfulness. Set it as a matching lock screen.

For Mother’s Day

Spell MOM, MAMA or your mother’s name and let every flower carry a wish: Carnation-strength love, Magnolia dignity, Yarrow for good health. Print the square version on a card she can keep.

For faraway friends

Zinnia means “thoughts of absent friends” — which is why Z names are so loved here. Send a friend their name as a bouquet with a note about what each flower says about them.

For new beginnings

Narcissus stands for new beginnings, Iris for hope. Spell a new baby’s name, a new job, a new home — a bouquet that marks the chapter and makes a beautiful nursery print.

For self-love

Your own name, your own flowers. A lock screen that reminds you of your own qualities every time you unlock your phone: Serenity, Grace, Hope — some of the loveliest bouquets on this site are people’s own names.

For weddings & anniversaries

Blend the couple’s names into one bouquet for a unique anniversary gift, or spell a surname for a family keepsake. The blush wrapping paper is a favourite for wedding-season downloads.

How it works

From a name to a lock screen in three small steps.

1

Type a name

Yours, your partner’s, your mom’s — or the name of someone you miss. Up to 12 letters, and the bouquet appears as you type.

2

Watch it bloom

Each letter grows into its flower with its own meaning, arranged tall-to-small like a real florist’s work, wrapped in your choice of blush, sage or kraft paper.

3

Save & share

Download it as a free HD phone wallpaper or a square post for Instagram — or copy the link to send the exact bouquet to someone special.

The flowers people love most

A few of the blooms that fill the most beautiful name bouquets.

Peony (P) — Prosperity & Romance. The undisputed queen of romantic bouquets. A name with a P blooms with full, ruffled pink peonies — the flower most requested on the TikTok name-bouquet trend, and a traditional symbol of a happy marriage and good fortune.

Rose (R) — Passionate Love. No flower speaks louder. The rose has carried the message of passionate love for centuries, which is why an R in your name brings the bouquet’s boldest bloom — deep crimson, layered and classic.

Sunflower (S) — Loyalty & Adoration. Sunflowers turn their faces to the light, a daily act of loyalty. A name with an S gets the bouquet’s sunniest flower — bright yellow petals around a warm heart of seeds, adored by anyone who loves cheerful designs.

Lavender (L) — Devotion & Serenity. More than a scent, lavender is a promise of calm devotion. Its purple spike adds height and rhythm to a bouquet, and its meaning makes it perfect for names that feel like a deep breath.

Hydrangea (H) — Gratitude & Deep Emotion. One hydrangea stem carries a whole sphere of tiny florets, which is why it symbolises heartfelt emotion that comes in abundance. An H gives your bouquet a soft blue centrepiece with real presence.

Zinnia (Z) — Thoughts of Absent Friends. The flower of the faraway friend. If there’s a Z in a name you miss, the zinnia says what distance can’t: you are thought of, every day.

Questions

How does the name bouquet generator work?

Every letter of the alphabet is paired with a flower and its meaning, inspired by floriography — the Victorian language of flowers. Type a name and each letter blooms into its flower, then our layout engine arranges the stems into a balanced bouquet, wraps it in paper, and ties it with a ribbon. The result is a keepsake image that is unique to that name.

Is it really free?

Yes. You can generate and download your bouquet as a high-resolution PNG (1080 × 1920 phone wallpaper or 1080 × 1080 square) completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark, and no hidden limits. Generate as many names as you like.

How do I set my bouquet as a phone wallpaper?

Download the phone wallpaper PNG, open it in your Photos, tap the share button and choose “Use as Wallpaper”, then set it to your lock screen. On iPhone you can also long-press the bouquet preview to save it straight to your photos. On Android, use Gallery → Set as wallpaper after saving.

Will the same name always grow the same bouquet?

Yes — and that’s the magic. Our generator is deterministic: EMILY grows exactly the same arrangement of Eustoma, Magnolia, Iris, Lavender and Yarrow every time, on every device, for every person. Two people who share a name share a bouquet, which makes it a lovely little coincidence to discover.

What if my name has two of the same letter?

It works beautifully. Repeated letters simply add more of that flower to the bouquet, just like a real florist repeating a signature bloom. A name like LILY becomes a lush arrangement with lavender appearing twice, alongside iris and yarrow.

Can I combine two names, like a couple?

Absolutely — this is one of the most popular uses. Try blending both of your names, or use the letters of a shared surname. A couple named Mark and Iris might spell MIRIS: Magnolia for dignity, Iris for hope, Rose for passionate love, Ursinia for cheerfulness and Sunflower for loyalty.

How many letters can a bouquet have?

Up to 12 letters, which is enough for most first names, surnames and blended couple names. Our layout engine automatically arranges long names into layered rows — tall flowers at the back, delicate blooms at the front — so a 12-letter bouquet stays as balanced as a 3-letter one.

Can I print my name bouquet?

Yes. The download is a crisp PNG rendered from vector graphics, so it prints beautifully on greeting cards, framed prints, mugs and stickers. For best results choose the square size for cards and prints, and the tall size for phone wallpapers.

Can I use my bouquet on Instagram or TikTok?

Of course — we encourage it! The square download is sized perfectly for Instagram posts and stories, and name bouquets are a growing trend on TikTok under #flowernametrend. Tag your creation so friends can find their own bouquets too.

Do you store the names I type?

No. Everything happens in your browser: the name you type, the bouquet it creates, and the image you download never leave your device. We don’t have accounts and we don’t keep a gallery of generated bouquets. See our Privacy Policy for the details.

Can I use bouquets commercially?

Bouquets are free for personal, non-commercial use — wallpapers, cards, gifts and social posts. If you’d like to use the artwork in products you sell, such as prints or merchandise, contact us for licensing and we’ll be happy to help.

What is floriography, in one sentence?

Floriography is the practice of assigning meanings to flowers — a coded language that reached its peak in the Victorian era, when bouquets were used to send messages of love, friendship and remembrance that couldn’t be spoken aloud.
